Meet Jewel

Jewel is a little 4 year old girl from Tennessee who was born premature and suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Even with therapy, she is still unable to walk without surgery.Jewel has had the fortunate event of meeting a doctor at the Saint Louis Children's Hospital who can perform this surgery for her, but they need help getting & staying there. They will be meeting Jewel's doctor on June 21st and she'll be having her surgery on July 6th. It sounds like they have the surgery covered, but the travel costs are going to be a longshot for them.

Jewel's family has set up a website for her here. They are accepting paypal donations and have information about the cookout they are hosting in honor of Jewel (that everyone is invited to).

Auntie Di's De-Lites has a nice little blog entry about Jewel and the fundraiser she is hosting to raise so money to send to Jewel. She is offering to donate $5 from the sale of her Jewel's Hope Candle (you choose the scent) to Jewel's family. If that listing is sold out, please visit her Etsy shop and locate the newest listing.

If you've never purchased a candle from Auntie Di's before, they are FANTASTIC. We've gotten a few now and I'll never switch anywhere else. They last a long time and they smell delicious.

Update on baby Peyton

So far there has been no change on Peyton's condition. She is in ICU at the children's hospital. They are not allowed to have any visitors at all. Beth, Peyton's mommy is hanging in there and very grateful for all the time off er co-workers donated to her. Right now they are just waiting for a heart for Peyton. Her condition is the same. They are taking it one day at a time... I will keep you updated on her status. Oh, and we have raised $100 for baby Peyton. We are trying to raise some money to help with all the expenses that Peyton's parents are going through right now. We appreciate all your help! Thanks!

This is Vivian from MPM. One of my husband's co-workers has this sweet little girl, Peyton. They just found out that she is really sick - she has cardiomyopathy with congestive heart failure and is in dire need of a heart transplant. Peyton's mommy, Beth has exhausted all of her paid time off and several of her co-workers have rallied together and given her their PTO. Isn't that amazing?

I know Christmas time is here and things are already hard as it is, but I would appreciate any help you guys can give. We are trying to raise money to help Peyton and her parents with all the medical expenses. Even with good medical insurance, medical expenses can still add up and become a burden. I want Peyton's mommy and daddy to be able to focus all their attention on her and not their medical bills.

I know they would appreciate any help you can give. All you have to do is click the donate button to your right and it's pretty easy!

First and for most, thank you so much to everyone who prayed and donated for 2kute. Words cannot express how grateful we all are for your willingness to give! We are all still in a bit of awe and shock at all the donations, including a very sizeable one who brought us to our goal so quickly! You all have been such an incredible blessing in our lives, more than you will ever know! This blog and this new ac is a true testimony of how awesome God is!

As you can see we did change the goal from the $2000. After talking to 2kute we realized she may need a bit more for some wiggle room with the repair man. Also, if there is any left over from getting the new unit, she will use that toward her electric bill which she is behind on.

We also have some amazing and generous people that have donated items for giveaways, so we want to do some more giveaways.

You guys have no idea what a blessing you are to us and to 2kute. When she told her husband, he stood and stared at her to try to understand what she was saying. I mean he was in shock that people who we don't even know have been so kind and generous. Then he said, "what a blessing!" He was so happy.

Then when we told 2kute's parents, they didn't say anything, they were speechless and cried.

Again, we are so thankful for each and every one of you!!! You are AWESOME!!!

Viv and I both just called Rose and she is shaking and crying with joy! She is beside herself and we are so excited!

Keep in mind, $2000 was the low-end of the spectrum and the air conditioning man told us that it could be more than that, but we NEVER thought we'd raise this much for her!

2kute helped me get started on Etsy. Everytime I had a question she would patiently help me out. And she's always helping pimp my store!

We're Getting There!!

We've hit $102 collected so far! Thanks so much to everyone who's donated already and to those of you who have helped out by purchasing something from Rose! I'm going to add the profits from those sales to our tally as soon as she wakes up and tells me how much to add. So, actually, we've raised more than $102.

I've had a number of people offer fundraising suggestions, which is awesome! I absolutely love suggestions, so if you have one, please feel free to get in touch with me or Viv at either of our shops, facebook or even just leave a comment here.

One of our favorite suggestions thus far is that a number of you mentioned you'd like to donate a portion of your sales or the profit from a particular item to Rose. We wouldn't mind this in the least! If you'd like to make your donation this way, I absolutely encourage you to and I will feature anyone who tells me that they'd like to do this on our team blog! The Cat is Out of the Bag!

Rose (2kute/2kutekards) was hanging around twitter yesterday and it seems she came across some people pimping her team. She thought someone was pretending to be her and trying to rip people off, so she clicked the link and to her surprise she found this blog! Of course, she couldn't believe it when she saw it and she went on to call Viv and I sneaky. haha.

Rose said to us,

I just became speechless when I saw the blog and cried like a baby :)

But don't worry, it was definitely a good cry!

I just got overwhelmed when I saw so many good friends coming and donating ya
know, and pimping. That was awesome.

So lets get out there and keep trying to get her this air conditioner!

Rose, 2kute was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several years ago and has been suffering very badly because of it.

She lives in Florida and the heat causes her fibro to flare up worse than usual. Some days it's so painful that even laying in bed hurts her. Ideally, she would like to move to a cooler climate, but unfortunately she cannot afford that as the state of Florida has denied her disability claim and she can't work due to her illness.

Her husband makes what he can, but it's barely enough to cover her medications and treatments - which the doctors have told her she has reached the end to, there is nothing else left for her to try.

Now, of all things, her central air has broken and is beyond repair. No one in the family can afford to buy her a new unit, but without it she may very well die. And what's more is that when winter finally does roll along, they will have no heater either.

We are looking to see if anyone out there would be willing to help purchase her a new unit. We have already tried looking for governmental support, but to no avail, so any assistance would be great!
